This mold makes 12 standard tarts. They are made from polyurethane rubber (similar to silicone, only we think they are more durable and last longer). Each tart is 3/4 inch deep and 2 inches across the top. They are perfect for candle tarts, a great size for guest soap or soap samples, and works well for small lotion bars. No mold release agent is needed, but can be used if desired. The temperature of what you are pouring should be a maximum of 200 degrees. If you have ever fought with the tin molds trying to remove the tarts and are tired of sore and bleeding fingers you will love and appreciate these. These will stand up to repeated use (we have used molds made from this material almost everyday for 3 years and they still work great, no tears, no cracks, just like new). This mold is a great time saver and very economical because of the number of repeated uses it provides. This mold is NOT for food use!
PLEASE NOTE: We have purchased and are now using equipment that makes our urethane molds practically bubble free. Why? Because removing the entrapped air creates a more dense mold that is stronger, lasts longer and more resistant to tearing, but the best part is the finished product comes out of the mold smoother, shinier and without all the "pits" (they look like pin pricks) that are usually seen in silicone and urethane molded candles. This creates an added step and expense for us (most mold makers don't do this), but we want to offer "top of the line" molds. We think you will be surprised at the improved look of your finished product. .
